WOMENS DEER HUNT WEEKEND

Dear Hunt week end was a blast-we had so much fun. The little girls could not stand it any longer :) I think you will agree they were all really good shoppers-but for me this was the best part of the day.

Pumpkin Patch

Ashlyn and I were able to go with neighbors to a local pumpkin patch. Ashlyn loved the hay maze and playing with the scare crows. And of course the trip would be incomplete without Ashlyn's sidekick Angie. As you can see she enjoyed the trip as well.

Pumkin Party

I love fall! I love the cooler weather, the changing leaves and pumpkins. So to celebrate the things I love we started hosting a pumpkin party each October. Tonight was our annual party, and the kids were as excited as I was to put it on. We've been preparing for it for weeks. Brinley helped me put up the tables and get ready this afternoon. It wore her right out-as you can see by the first picture :) The kids have some clever pumpkins, they're particularly proud of the pumpkin with the glasses. I personally loved my "mummy" pumpkin. The best part is that these pumpkins don't spoil-last year I finally took them down when we put up the Christmas decorations in Dec.

Ashlyn asked for some string last week. After watching her wrap the string around the bathroom door, the island in the kitchen, the dinner table and the coffee table; I asked her what she was doing. Her response was, "I am making an invention, The String 3000. It is to keep daddy in the bathroom forever." (I swear those are her words exactly!) I got a great laugh out of it and had to take some pictures. Ashlyn was completely happy with herself. So if anyone needs to keep their husband or daddy in the bathroom forever talk to Ashlyn and she will tell you how it is done.

A Potty Trained Brinely

She did it-she is no longer wearing diapers. She has been talking about using the potty for a while now and talking about the big girl panties she will get when she goes in the toilet. I just could not bring myself to do it. It is so easy to change a dirty diaper a few times a day than it is to worry about an accident at the school, church, in the car or at the store. Anyway it occurred to me last week that if I didn't take advantage of her enthusiasm it might be harder to do when I am ready. Luckily this week was pretty slow and we have been able to spend a little more time at home 'practicing'. She is 100% at night-knock on wood-with a few misses in the day. Mostly when she has been playing and forgets to come in. Anyway she is really excited, and after 7 straight years of changing diapers I am looking forward to the break!

Missing and new teeth

Hailey has lost several teeth in the last little while-she thinks she looks like a pumpkin. I think she just looks like a silly Hailey, but we love it:), and she loves to show off her new and missing teeth. Dad tell me they will all fit in the right way soon:) She is hoping they will stay this way until Halloween so she could be a pumpkin, unfortunately for her it looks like that wont happen.

A little R&R in Vegas :)

Lance had business meetings in Las Vegas last week so we decided to join him. We actually stayed at a Ritz Carlton in Lake Las Vegas-I'd never heard of it before but it was beautiful. The red rock mountains, palm trees, golf course and greenery remind me of St George. While Lance worked (poor guy) the kids and I played in the pools, on the beach and watched movies. On Thursday and Friday there were very few people there. It felt like we had the whole resort, shops, and restaurants to ourselves. It was very nice not having all the gambling and trash that usually comes along with the words Las Vegas. Saturday the place began to fill up with middle to older couples. I honestly think I was the only one there with little children. Lucky us:)
I accidentally addend the picture of Kolten (and the second one of Carson) and I can't figure out how to delete them-an ideas let me know. We watched Kathryn's kids a few weeks ago and Kolten was sooooooo cute. He is eating black licorice (was that fun for him Kathryn?) and laughing. Hailey is trying to chase him and he can't do three things at once. It was hysterical

We went to the zoo with Brett's work on Friday. We had a really
good time. The big ball at the entrance of the Zoo was a big hit with my kids.

This is the day we've been waiting for! They've been so excited for several days. In the car on the way to school this morning Carson told me he was sooooo nervous, then the first thing he said when I picked them up was that it was sooooooo cool.

Happy Birthday Kolten

I can't believe he is actually "1" already! Thanks to Aunt Jessica, he looks like he's "21" on Sundays! He absolutely loves the Tonka truck we gave him for his b-day...only one problem...once he gets in the truck, he can't get out! He squawks until someone gets him out! We adore this kid...even though he screams like a girl at least three times a day! Happy Birthday Kolten!

Happy 4th of July. We had a great time at our Family Reunion in Heber over the weekend. Although we were beginning to feel like Noah after 4 days of rain!

Ashlyn and Madison's sleepover

This picture is after swimming for two hours, but before their bath. I found them downstairs watching a movie--both of them just about asleep. Ashlyn was so excited to have someone sleepover. We would love more guests!

"But my hair was in my eyes!"

Yup, Alan went down stairs to find that Ashlyn had taken the scissors to her hair. At first, bewildered by what he saw, he tried to find the stuffed animal that was missing hair. He then realized that it was Ashlyn's. When I asked her, with tears in my eyes, what she was doing she smiled and said, "but my hair was in my eyes!" Good reason to chop it off, I guess. I could not yell at her--I did give her the scissors and then left her unattended while we painted her room. If you look closely to the left side of her face you can see some short pieces of hair. She also cut her hair in the back.

I have tried for several days to get the video of Brinley on this site with NO luck so I'm trying a picture instead.

White Trash, Anyone?

So...just in case anyone was wondering who the "WHITE TRASH" family was in our family, this picture should give the Jeff Andrus Family the title! Yes, my husband is driving around this town with his door tied halfway shut (because that is as far is we can pull it shut)! He hopped in his truck last Friday and put it in reverse--forgetting one thing...SHUT THE DOOR! After hitting a fence and bending his door in half he drove home hiding his face with one hand and holding onto his door with the other! :) We are currently looking into salvage doors and talegates (a similar story with his gooseneck trailer)! So, be on the lookout! Just a side note...you probably shouldn't let Jeff drive your vehicles! :)
